How do I use ProQuest to find Psychology articles on the global effect of the Covid-19 pandemic?

Answer

  • Sign into the Touro portal, go to databases, and filter on the top of the page to the subject area PSYCHOLOGY
  • Your results contain databases best for Psychology.   Select One. (example: Psychology Database (ProQuest).
  • Use keywords in your search- not long phrases or questions like in a Google search.  An "Advanced Search" gives you several search bars. Use terms like "Covid-19" or "Coronavirus" or "Pandemic," and in the next box terms like "society" or "social interaction".   This gives you results using the terms you selected.
  • On the left side, you will also see filters to further refine your results.  You may want to select peer-reviewed/scholarly sources, eliminating newspapers, magazines, and government reports.
  • The "Full-Text" filter will only give you results to which Touro has access to the full article.
