Can I access the New York Times through the Touro online library? My professor gave me a link, but when I go to it, it says I need a New York Times subscription.
Answer
Yes. Select New York Times content can be found in our databases.
- Log into your TouroOne account.
- Go to the library homepage.
- Locate the icon that reads “eJournals", click on it, then type in New York Times.
- You will get a list of databases which contain the New York Times. Pick one that contains the date you need.
- If you know when the article was published, pick the corresponding date and look for the article.
- You can “search within” the publication by typing in the article title, and the database will try to find it.
- Since titles may differ between print and online versions, keywords may provide a more effective search.
The Library does not subscribe to the online New York Times from the publisher. You will not be able to open links from www.nytimes.com.
