My professor stated "You may use only the following resources in the articles section for this assignment: EBSCO, ERIC, ProQuest." How do I know the difference or if I am choosing the right articles?
Answer
EBSCO and ProQuest are large multi-disciplinary databases which contain documents of various types for a variety of audiences. Whether someone is a grade-schooler or a professional researcher, these databases have suitable materials for the task at hand. For professor-approved items, limit your search to scholarly/peer reviewed articles.
ERIC is a database specific to education, containing both items published as articles in journals and documents produced for agencies and governmental organizations and are therefore outside of traditional publishing. For professor-approved items, limit your search to items published in journals.
You can find all of these databases on Touro Libraries' A-Z list. Log into the TouroOne Portal, and click on the database icon found on the library homepage. You can find EBSCO, ERIC, and ProQuest on the list alphabetically, or displayed together when setting the subject keyword to "Education".
