What is a SWOT analysis and where can I find one?

Answer

A SWOT analysis is a report detailing a company's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.  If it is available, it can be found in business databases available through Touro Libraries.

To search for a specific company, log into the TouroOne portal.  Click on the database icon to go to the A-Z list and select "business, management, accounting economics" from the dropdown menu.  On that list, click on Hoovers.  Once in the database, there is a small blank text box at the top of the page which reads "search for company". Type in the company name.  You will get several results, including regional branches.  Select the headquarters (usually at the top of the results list).  There is a list on the left side of the page, topped with the word "Core" .  If a SWOT analysis is available for the company it will be on that list in alphabetical order, and can be downloaded.

If the SWOT analysis is not available in Hoovers,  you may find one in the database Business Source Complete.  Search the name of the company with SWOT as a key word.
