I need a history book for a book review project.

I am looking for a non-fiction history book published by an academic or university press, written by a historian that contains the newest research on the topic. The time frame is from the first century of the Common Era until 1500.

Answer

Our print books can be found by searching the catalog:

https://library.touro.edu/search~S2/X

In one field put your topic.  Where it reads publishing date, include a recent range, for example 2018-2025. Where is reads publisher add the word University. This search will return results containing books published by university presses. You may get results at several campuses. Books which are available to be borrowed from any campus can be sent to your campus of choice. To borrow physical books, you must have a a pre-existing library account for borrow books that was made in the library.  If you would like one go to any Touro NY campus library, present your TouroID and schedule of classes, and one will be made for you

If you want an eBook, search the blank box in the center of the library homepage after logging into the portal.  All eBooks can be found here:

Once you put in your keyword you can narrow by date (last 5 years) and include University in the publisher field. You must reset the content type to books/eBooks. You will find details of the author's credentials in the book itself or Google the author to learn her educational background and teaching affiliations. To determine how long the book is, you will need to click on individual links.
